Privacy Policy
ChoreBoom is a family chore management app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
What we collect
- Account information: The family account owner's name and email address, used for login and account management.
- Kid profiles: First names and PINs for each child in your family. We never collect email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal information from children.
- Usage data: Chore session records, job completions, and point totals — the core data needed to run the app.
- Push notification tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store a device token to send you alerts. You can revoke this at any time in Settings.
How we use it
We use your information solely to operate ChoreBoom. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.
Children's privacy
ChoreBoom is designed for use by families. Child profiles contain only a first name and a numeric PIN — no email, no phone number, no location data. Parents control all account settings. We comply with COPPA principles and do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store payment information.
Data retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us.
